INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER Service description:   The internationalist not-violent association Collective Wanderers of Peace (original name is Collettivo Vagabondi di Pace – Kolektiv Skitnici od Mira), Italian voluntary organization, seeks International Volunteers joining the project “Giochiamo la Pace – Igramo Miru” (Play the Peace). The project operates in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the municipalities of Bosanska Krupa, Bosanska Otoka, Ostruznica and Veliki Badic. The project is based on the animation of youth people proposing them activities, laboratories,play; performed summer school with children, organizing activities to join people and making dialogue possible in a land were war destroyed people inside. The purpose of this project is to make children and teen-agers conscious of their capacities, giving them the tools to know they can be active subjects in society and they have right to grow free, that peoples are not different but human beings have all the same rights and war is always a no-solution that create only violence. The project takes from 30 july to 23 august,it’s possible to join for one, two or three weeks ( one week 30 july - 09 august or 06 -16 august or 13-23 august; two weeks 30 julj - 16 august 2007 or 06 -23 august; three weeks 30 july - 23 august ). During the camp will be will be formation courses about history and culture of Bosnia, about children, about the organization of the camp. Minimal age to join is 16 years (for under-age people we need authorization of the parents) Official languages of the camp are Italian, Bosnian and English. We are interested in have new volunteers in our summer projects to make it more rich with different people and cultures. At that time a small group of people, who have been volunteers in another association, decided to build a new association according to their ideals. Many of them were coming from experiences in Balkan area, exactly in Bosna-Hercegovina, they performed summer school with children, organizing activities to join people and making dialogue possible in a land were war destroyed people inside. Someone of them has started working a lot of year before in refugee centres, always as volunteer, during the period of the war in Bosna-Hercegovina (1992-1995), and this new experience was the natural prosecution of a choice of life. But the Collective has many purposes not only in Bosna-Hercegovina, since from the rising of association we want work inside society in Italy and in all the world, especially with young people that can make a better world. Is our purpose to promote all the possible actions to make people responsible and conscious that an another world is possible and that all can make their part in the construction of that world. There are not obstacles when the force of ideas is on the base of the action, we think that word are nothing if behaviour is not coherent with words. According to that purpose, since from the beginning we join and promote social campaign. Special demands: What we can offer: our experience to lead people in this project, not only working with children but also organizing meeting with local partners about history, culture and so on. Have a different vision of world and culture, making differences lika a richness and not like a division Insurance: it is obligatory for who join our project, tha insurance costs 3 euro for each day and is with a italian company (all volunteers will have copy of contratct) Back
